In Honour Of.. Squirrels in glasses.
From a series of shrines created by Kethi Copeland and Kate Bellamy for theĀ March Hare exhibition.
Kethi recently went to Mexico - the land of little shrines, and fell in love with them. In Mexico the Day of the Dead celebrates the departed with offerings of food and gifts: Kate and Kethi have made their own set of shrines to some whimsical characters combining a little bit of Mexico, British style and absurdity.
Pictures from March Hare: the first collaboration between Kate Bellamy and Kethi Copeland exhibited at Open Arts Cafe 22nd March.
We responded to the theme of March Hare (Madness) with a string of hand Papercuts with whimsical imagery. The papercuts where Inspired by decorations I saw on a recent trip to Mexico but all have a distinct British flavour.

Kethi Copeland and Kate Bellamy will be exhibiting their first Collaborative project at March’s Open Arts Cafe. The exhibition and event runs for one night only alongside performances from new young artists in music, theatre and dance all on the theme of ‘March Hare’ - exploration into all things absurd.
